Experience
I live in the Richmond, TX area, and I graduated from The University of Hartford with my bachelor's degree in health sciences. I received my elementary education teaching certificate to teach EC-6 at the University of Houston-Victoria as well as a master's degree in elementary education curriculum and instruction. I currently teach 4th grade for the second year, and I cherish each moment I have spent with every student. I teach reading, writing, and social studies during the school day, but I am able to tutor in elementary mathematics, anatomy, phonics, biology, pre-algebra, English, and test prep. Additionally, I am able to tutor in preparation for the STAAR reading and writing test, as I am actively preparing my 4th grade students to take the test nearly everyday of the school year. I believe in the introduction of new concepts by engaging in alternative activities and making life references. I teach in such a way that my students do not realize they are being prepared to take a test. My desire is to witness the students I teach develop a love for education, as I feel it is the most complete method with which we can discover the world we live in. While not teaching, I like to crochet, listen to music, and enjoy being outdoors spending time with my dog. I also enjoy drawing.
