I believe that I am a friendly, patient, and hardworking tutor. I have always worked well with students and the bulk of my tutoring has been with fifth grade students preparing for Texas state standardized exams. I helped the students prepare in reading comprehension, math, and science. I valued their feedback on my teaching style and was always pleased to find that it was consistently positive. I believe that it is important to check with the student to verify if they understand the concepts that I am teaching before moving on to the next topic. In addition to working with students, I have worked as a physician's assistant in oncology and primary care. I have found great enjoyment in taking care of patients. I earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas and a masters in clinical medical studies. I am interested in tutoring elementary through high school students in biology, math, science, English, test prep, and reading. In addition, I tutor college level English and work with students preparing to take their GED. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time volunteering, studying spirituality, reading, or being with my friends and family.
